The selection of scheduled activities, organised for Wednesday afternoon of the conference, will cover an eclectic mix of Scottish experiences. Details of each are given below; simply choose one to suit your interests:
The Da Vinci Experience
A tour of Rosslyn Chapel, the historic Chapel founded in 1445 which plays a crucial role in the best selling novel (and forthcoming movie) by Dan Brown. This visit is combined with the opportunity to stroll through scenic Roslin Glen.

A Dram and a Glass
Come and sample Scotland’s number one export! Glenkinchie Distillery is the nearest working malt whisky distillery to Edinburgh. Find out how whisky is made from the field to the glass. You can even sample the product! In addition, you will also visit Edinburgh Crystal, where craftsmen work to produce quality crystal ware. Price includes a dram and discount vouchers for malt whisky purchase.
Price Euro 24.00.
Glens and Lochs
The Trossachs is one of Scotland’s most scenic areas. See this beautiful region on your way to Loch Katrine where you will cruise on the Old Steamship “Sir Walter Scott” which has plied the waters for over one hundred years.
Price Euro 30.00.
Ancient and Modern Scotland
See Scotland’s eighth wonder of the world! The Falkirk Wheel was built in 2001 and is the world’s first and only rotating boat lift, lifting boats 35 m from the Forth and Clyde Canal to the Great Union Canal. This will be followed by a visit to the majestic Stirling Castle, which during its long and bloody history, has been attacked or besieged at least sixteen times; in fact, two of the battles fought in the vicinity were turning points in Scottish history. Trip includes a guided tour of the castle.
Price Euro 30.00.
The Burrell Collection
Situated in Pollok Country Park, The Burrell collection is a collection of over nine thousand works of art including mediæval art, tapestries, alabasters, stained glass, furniture, paintings (incluing Degas and Cezanne), Islamic art and modern sculpture (including Epstein and Rodin). You can wander freely and even walk under architectural features such as mediæval arches.

Blow off those cobwebs with an afternoon of activity, hill walking in the Pentlands, with (weather permitting) spectacular views of Edinburgh, Midlothian and the Firth of Forth from the hill tops. You are advised to bring sturdy footwear and wear appropriate clothing for this trip. The trip concludes with an opportunity for well deserved drink at the Flotterstone Inn.
